Y
Year-to-date (YTD): Period from the beginning of the calendar year to the reporting date. Corporate profits are reported on a quarterly and year-to-date basis.
Yield: For stock, the portion of a return on your investment that is paid as a dividend. For bonds and notes, yield is the effective interest rate.
Yield-to-maturity: The total return an investor will get by holding a long-term, interest-bearing instrument (usually a bond) until it matures.
