No index covers every publicly traded company. There are
thousands of small corporations that are referred to as
penny stocks, pink-sheet stocks, or bulletin-board
stocks that trade over the counter, or OTC. If a NASDAQ
stock falls below $1.00 for 9 months, it is de-listed
and sent to the pink sheets (before the NASDAQ, OTC
stock listings were printed on pink sheets).
